The Eagle's Story

The lesson here is that our lives are not determined by what happens to us but by HOW we react to WHAT happens, Not by what life brings to us, but by the attitude we bring to life.

Let's make a change today!

Do you know when it rains, most birds head for shelter but the eagle is the only bird that, in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the cloud.

Fossil Fuel : Where are we now?

Fossil fuel are formed from natural decomposition of buried dead organism that aged millions of years...  and some exceeds 650 million years old.

Fossil fuel contain high percentages of carbon and it is also called as hydrocarbons. One of our common fossil fuel product is our petroleum gas that we use on our car.

At the rate of how we deplete the fossil fuel vs how much fossil fuel is left... is basically unimaginable. No one knows how much longer we all can still get to enjoy all the fossil fuels.

Can you imagine one day, we live with no electricity (yes, our electricity are mainly powered using fossil fuel), no fridge to keep our food fresh, no air-conditioned room - how to sleep? and of course no car for us to go from one place to another place. And I can imagine every now and then on this situation when the time come that we no longer have any fossil fuel to support our demand.

The Earth Hour (60 minutes) where everyone who support on this movement will practically use zero energy for 60 min on that day. It does not mean that it is sufficient or enough to save on our fossil fuel. This is a symbolic movement to make everyone aware that we need to think more.

Every minute we save is every minute we gain for our future generation.

Start taking action now. If you want to know more what we can do to help, my door is open and please drop me an email.

NEVER GIVE UP : A Powerful Word

Yes, that is a very powerful word indeed.

If you understand the definitions, it is not easy to do.

In life, you will experienced a lots of UPs and DOWNs. And every time when bad things happens, it really put yourself to a test and every time when you are almost to the bottom of your life. What really make you hanging there is the NEVER GIVE UP attitude.

We are lucky cos we have many people around that who care for us. And that is what make us more resilient compare to our mother nature.

Our mother nature, SHE never give up on us. SHE has been with us ever since the time begin. SHE provides us what we human race needs to evolve from one age period to another age period. This has been a natural cycle of a universal evolution.

Do we start to give up on HER? Ask yourself, have you ever think of HER on every action that you made or going to make on everyday? Do you think of contributing something good back to HER?

Start thinking of GREEN activities cos I NEVER GIVE UP on you and your goodwill action for HER.

Facts on Mercury

Mercury is a metal element. And it is the only metal element that is in liquid form in room temperature. And it would be great fun to play with Mercury if it not poisonous.

One of a natural property of Mercury is that it easily absorbed into fat. Fish, particularly fatty fish like Tuna, tends to contain mercury, largely as a result of mercury contamination in the environment from coal industry. The higher the fat content, the higher the mercury level.

Compact fluorescent bulb use Mercury vapor as they saves huge amount of electricity compare to the older generation of lighting that uses tungsten filament incandescent bulb. This is where mercury start to be widely used.

Though mercury have help us saving on electrical energy on lighting but there are one thing that worries people. Practically all lighting devices that we use today contain a small amount of mercury in vapor form. In principal, we should not throw these bulbs/tubes together with our household trash. It should be taken to a special recycling center for a proper treatment however in reality even if we are aware, but there is no such center available locally.

Over the time, the mercury that was and continue to get released into the environment is like no one care. Do anyone have done any study and calculate what is the impact?

Mercury poisoning is caused by exposing to mercury or its compounds. The toxic effects include damage to the brain, kidney and lungs. Mercury poisoning can also result in several diseases (acrodynia, Hunter-Russell syndrome and Minamata disease). Symptoms are sensory impairment (vision, hearing, speech), disturbed sensation and lack of coordination.

Fluorescent tube/bulb contain mercury vapor. When broken indoor, it may emit sufficient mercury vapor to present a health concern. US Environmental Protection Agency recommends evacuation and airing out a room for at least 15min after breaking of fluorescent tube/bulb.

If you would like to make a change for the better of our environment, you can read by clicking HERE for actual LED Lighting that is compared with our Fluorescent Tube.

Don't use your mobile phone when crossing road

This is true and not to scare on the mobile phone user. Sometimes we may be too carry away when we are on the mobile phone.

Share this cos awareness is important. You might be saving someone's life when you spread this awareness to them.

Quality or Quantity?

Do we Malaysian start to forget about quality? Do us Malaysian know how to measure or ask for Quality?

ALL of us want to make sure whatever that we do for our family is the best. Basically it mean the BEST in quality and safety for everything, regardless it is food, kids education, clothing, car, home and etc.. etc..

Today what is really sad is that.. we never ask the right question about Quality or Safety? Example, when we go to restaurant for family dinner, do anyone ever asked question like how is the food quality for today? ...or is the food serve today is safe? Maybe this is very blunt or senseless but think about it.. does it make sense? Maybe can use a better and flowery sentence but bottom line we asked the right question on Quality and Safety.
Another example, when we buy any electrical appliance for our home. Do we ever ask the question, what is the quality level like do they have SIRIM approved, do they have any other country quality standards certified? What about Safety Standards?

With that 2 examples, if it was never been asked. Then how do we bring the best thing for our family?

However what we often hear is "berapa" which mean Quantity. Like "Berapa biji durian untuk RM10 ringgit?" which translate as  "How many (in quantity) Durian fruit for RM10 ringgit?". And very often we bargain for more as we want to make the most value on our money spent. Do we ever look from their side? When ever there is a business transaction took place, either the buying party or the seller party will naturally engaged in a negotiation process and will naturally make sure it is a win situation for them. Correct?

In that context, if we as a buyer are pressuring for quantity in a product. Do you think end of the day, the seller is able to deliver a good quality in their product? My answer is NO WAY! Just be smart and know the value of the product you want to purchase.

So the question is... you want QUALITY or you want QUANTITY for your family.
If you care and love for your family, please next time when you start buying something like electrical appliance for your home, please start asking for Quality and Safety question to the sales person. Be sensitive and bring the true value to your family with your hard earned money.

This is good for understanding the different between these 3 type of lighting technology.
