Goodness of GREEN : Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a plant of many good nutrients. If you do plant this at home, you can actually consume it as part of your good diet and you just need to learn how. One of the easiest methods that I know is making Aloe Vera “Tong Sui”.
First, need to do is skin off (fillet), which is removed the hard skin that cover the white transparent gel. Basically what you want is the transparent white gel and of course this is not easy, as the process is very slimy (mucus of the plant). You can cut the gel in cube but I like mine in big chunk so that I can taste its texture. Boil the transparent gel together with nutmeg juice and “pandan” using a Slow Cooker. It will be cooked after 2 hrs and add natural sweetener to make it sweet but not too sweet. Let it cool down and it can be served either hot or cold.
This is how my Aloe Vera "Tong Sui" looks like. Very big chunk right. It is tasty.
Below is the picture of my home planted Aloe vera. It is very common and quite reasonable price if you buy from a nursery plant, something like RM15 a pot.
Buy a few pot at home and let it grow. When big enough you can start harvest and consume as part of a very healthy diet for you.
The benefit of Aloe Vera is listed below :-

One thing to note is that (not sure this is 100% true or not), pregnant lady please do not consume Aloe Vera as it is not suitable for pregnant lady. Basically I have read this some where but it is not been clinically vetted but better to follow than sorry later.
Also, just like any other food, even though it is good for you. It does not mean you can over eat cos overdose can cause you a bad impact to your body system.
Start planting Aloe Vera at home now. And you can actually plant a small Aloe Vera in the office too. Green is good for our environment and Green is our natural air cleaner.
So what are you waiting for now?
